why should you train in your small ring?
Improve your Cycling Fitness with RAMP (MAP) and 20 Minute FTP Testing
There has been a very lengthy debate on whether a traditional FTP Test is better than a RAMP Test. But first, let’s go over some cycling terms so we are all on the same page.
If professional cyclists have coaches then shouldn't we do the same?
Professional Cyclists often praise their coach for being a catalyst in helping them achieve their edge. If Professional Athletes understand the importance of seeking help from others, shouldn't we do the same in our cycling career?
After many years of being a Professional Cyclist, I have won many races in my career and never really had a coach so to speak, until I met Coach David. He helped me mentally prepare for the 2016 Masters World Championships that gave me the extra edge to pull it all together and win.
Do you find it difficult to train during upcoming holidays or stressful situations?
The holidays are upon us. For some, this is an exciting and wonderful time. For others it is dreaded and avoided where ever possible. For everyone, it can be a time of poor habits and self-care that prevent us from doing what we love, and this is to ride our bikes and train.
So Coach David, how do we manage this type of stress?
Don't let your fear of failure hold you back from achieving your goals.
HOW TO GET THE BEST OUT OF YOUR CYCLING EXPERIENCE
There will be a point in time during the year, if not already, where you're going to hit a plateau within your training program. This happens when your performance just doesn't seem to improve, no matter how hard you try. Hitting a performance plateau can be a very frustrating experience.
This can occur for a variety of reasons. One of the most common is training without a proper plan of attack. In order to get the most from your workouts, it is important to approach training from a scientific, holistic and mental point of view. Knowing what you are trying to accomplish with each day's effort as well as knowing what not to do can greatly improve your performance.
At CIS Training Systems, we bring out the very best of your capabilities in a structured and effective cycling training platform that drives results. (http://www.ciscyclingnyc.com/program.html). If your idea of training is just riding your bike without a clear purpose aligned with goals and objectives to achieve a desired outcome, I call that, “stinking thinking” and is a waste of valuable time that we don’t have, since we are so busy with the demands of everyday life. Always remember, "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." So why not change your approach and try something different.
How do we take what we learned indoors and transfer that knowledge to the road?
Hello all, Coach David here at your service. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog page. I hope that you find this information informative to enhance your training experience.
